Scholarships

North Dakota Academic or CTE Scholarship
North Dakota resident students may apply for either the North Dakota Academic  or CTE Scholarship. The amount of each scholarship is $750 per semester or $500 per quarter. Students may be eligible for up to $6,000 within six academic school years (do no have to be consecutive years) after graduation from high school. Scholarships are automatically renewed provided the student is enrolled full time, maintains a 2.75 cumulative grade point average, and makes adequate progress towards degree completion, as defined by NDCC 15.1-21-2.6.

Herdina Academy Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to students excelling in construction-related fields who are members of the National Association of Home Builders Student Chapters at Minnesota State Community and Technical College-Moorhead (M State), Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM), North Dakota State College of Science-Wahpeton (NDSCS) and North Dakota State University (NDSU). Scholarships are also awarded to area high school students planning to attend M State or NDSCS and enroll in a residential construction trades curriculum or related field.

Reuben T. Guenther Scholarship
The Reuben T. Guenthner Scholarship is given in memory of Reuben T. Guenthner, a leader in Career and Technical Education (CTE) in both the state and nation. Mr. Guenthner was first a CTE student, then a secondary CTE instructor, a local administrator supportive of CTE programs, and finally a member of the North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education from 1968 to 1995. Mr. Guenthner was appointed to the National Advisory Council on Career Education by President Reagan in 1982. At the time of his retirement in 1995, Mr. Guenthner was the North Dakota State Director of Career and Technical Education. Two scholarships in the amount of $350 each will be awarded in May to be used for the following school year. The scholarship is not renewable.

Julie Buxa Health Science Scholarship
Awarding of the scholarship will be based on interest in a health science career, college aspirations, school activities, leadership activities, community participation, and ability to overcome obstacles, financial need, grades and letter of application.

U.S Presidential Scholars in Career & Technical Education
The U.S. Presidential Scholars in Career & Technical Education Program recognizes and honors up to 20 students each year, on the basis of outstanding scholarship and demonstrated ability and accomplishment in career and technical education.

North Dakota Career Builders Scholarship & Loan Repayment
The ND Career Builders scholarship and loan repayment program is a unique partnership between the state and private-sector business, whereby for each dollar of private support received, the state will contribute a dollar of public funding. 

Scholarship Application Process: Interested individuals should first review the High-Need and Emerging Occupations List to determine if the program and institution are listed and then, PRIOR to starting the application, visit with the financial aid office at the college. The college will direct students regarding eligibility for the program as well as the application process.
